Updating a 2d linked list

Hi, iam just confused about the use of a 2d array in a linked list of which it is a boolean function. of the prototype bool update_list( int row, int col, <T> & data).
For the implementation, are we supposed to use nested for loops to run through the row and the columns respectively. Cos we are supposed to return a true if update of data is succesfull and false otherwise. If possible, can you help me with the pseudocode.
Thanks, dekmangeh

We can help you... but what exactly are you supposed to be updating? You never explain that.
