Ioctl

Hi there,

I want to retreive as much reliable identificationData concerning the computersHardware. Preferably serialnumbers from hardrive etc.

I Did some research and the most common way to do this is to use WMI. But for example to retreive the HarddriceSerialnumber u need admin right. Unfortunately it should work for users without admin rights.

So i stumbled over the DeviceIoControl-Function. I'm quite new to this topic so excuse if that is totally wrong. I was trying to get some ducumentation or samples how to use ioctls to retreive HardwareIdentification Data. Unfortunatley i wasnt able to find an apropriate sample or HowTo.

Is it possible to retreive this kind of Data with IOCTLs?

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks in Advance
