Ambiguity error occurs when compiler cannot differentiate between two versions of a same function in same namespace.

A second type of amiguity occurs when a derived class overrides a base class virtual function that has a definition. The base class definition is hidden by the derived class method. To recover it, the derived class method needs to call the base class method. The ambiguity occurs because the derived class method can't tell whether to call the base class method before(pre-condition) or after(post-condition) the base class call:
