hai friends iam new this field of software engineering , i have a problem in string operations let me explain generally strings are terminated by Null but when iam receving a command from a buffer through SPI intereface i am not getting null at the end , but i want to compare that string with sub string and get result.I need do some operation after this result .can any body rely to this mail as soon as possible thank you in advance.

Say let the main string has hai hello \r\n
the substring has hai;

You can convert it to a null terminated string (C string).

Have a look at this Google search.

Hello friend
when a string input from keyboard, it keeps in memory with a '\0' char as a terminator of string, because we get another string, it has to be kept in memory there after previous string, and there must be an end, to put another one so sysytem keeps a null char ('\0') with the end of each string. ie each time system put a string randomnly after a null char.
Otherwise in a wide range of memory a string will be replaced by another one unles it knows the starting position
