String manipulation

Hi
Is there any string function in C that can extract a specified number of characters from the middle of a string? For eg, I have a[]="abcdefghij", i should be able to extract "cdefg" from that string....

Have a look at the functions available in string.h. (I believe strncpy() is what you are looking for?)
