Help reading input from file

i just a newbie in c programming....
this is 1 part of my assignment. and i stuck with it...

i wan to load all d words in words.txt and count d words length.
How to debug it?

pFile = fopen ("words.txt","r");
 
    while(fgets(c, 20, pFile)!=NULL) { 
      printf("String: %s", c);       
      gets(string);
      printf(“The length of ”%s” is %d\n”,string,strlen(string));
      }
 
    fclose(pFile);

Use fscanf(). That function will extract only one word at a time and put it in a buffer you specify. Do a strlen() on the buffer for the word length.
