how to make selected text in a .doc file bold

Hi,
I have a .doc file. It is in the below format
1. Question......
Ans.........
2. Question....
Ans.....
and so on.

Now, I want that I select the question line and make it bold.
I can give logic to reach the question line, but how to select it and then how to make it bold?

What do you mean, you want to select it? Are you trying to make this display a certain way on a screen? Will this be scrolling, or do you want to just open it in whatever word processing program is the default for the file type?

No, I don't want to display it, i just want to make the question lines bold.
