Resizing/moving Word doc.

79
I'm using automation to open a Word document. I want it to take up exactly half the screen size (all the height, but half the width) and move it to the far left. So the left half of the screen is a Word doc and the right half is nothing.

I'm thinking I'll use the Application Resize() and Move() methods. The question is, how can I get the width and height of the screen and use those numbers (I guess I need to get the resolution?).

Okay, after some more research I've come to the conclusion that I will need to use GetDesktopWindow and GetWindowRect to do this. Is this right?

If so, how can these functions be used? I honestly have no idea how to use the parameters/return values to set the window size. There aren't very many clear examples of this on the internet either.

As it stands, I hardcoded some numbers into the program so that the windows are open the way I want them to be open...but I don't think they'll behave the same way on machines with different resolutions...I would like this to work for all machines (IIRC we have a few 13.3 inch laptops and 22 inch monitors that are going to use this...I'm currently on a 19 inch LCD)

Thanks
