code in C++ for a local chat

Hello,my name is Enrique and I have a big problem because I have to do a local chat in C++, but I don't know how to start, I only have a program to broadcast a message betwen two computers with the API , but I don't how do to it betwen lots of computers in a LAN. It was wonderful if you could send me information about it, thanks.
