time results are printed as 0

i am doing timing analysis of my project work. i tried using time_t . i get the results as 0.000000. i also tried using clock_t and clock functions at the beginning and end of my code. the final time value i get when i print is 0.0000000.
what should i do.

time_t is not floating point. How are you getting a floating point number??
