Memory Usage From C++ Program in Linux

Hey guys,
Do any of you happen to know of a way to monitor the memory usage of your program from within your program? Any help would be great.

This is a small command line program that does it. here

You could execute the program from your own C++ program and just redirect the output into stdin (and read it)
