If you would have used any OS specific calls then in porting you need to change it.

Raghu is right , But you have to change your code if it's compiler specific . Likewise , CC and Gcc Compiler in Linux . You find some changes in Input / Output stream , dynamically handling char array, and basic data type .

If your code involves any file I/O and delimiters, you might also have issues with newline/carriage-returns when reading input. Windows uses the combination "\n\r" whereas most other systems use only '\n'.
