Creating a stand-alone exe with Visual C++ Express Edition SP2

I have been reading forums and googling for the entire day now, and still to no avail. I don't want any dlls in the folder with the exe, I don't want the .Net Framework to be required just to say Hello World and I don't want to mess with any manifest files.

All I want is to be able to make a program with Visual C++ Express Edition and be able to distribute it to my friends without any hassle of download extra files and keeping extra files in the folder to allow it to run.

Create a "Win32 app" (console or GUI) from DevStudio, then, on C++ options, choose non-DLL version of the CRT libraries.

I want to use Visual C++ 2005 SP2 because I can very, very easily create a GUI.
