Simple image comparison..

hi, i'm newbie in C coding, i'm searching for ways to compare 1 image with alist of images (like jpg).. and when it finds a match it stops and tells wich image is it.
the problem is i dont know wich lib use, and i dont know what approach would be better to do.
if someone could help i would be greatfull :)

Are you talking about deploying a binary file comparison (i.e. byte-by-byte comparison) function, or an image recognition comparison (i.e. feature recognition) function? The former wouldn't be that hard to implement, but the latter would require an understanding/decoding of the image file format and a lot of independent research on computer vision. A simple byte-by-byte comparison function would also be able to move through a database faster than having the computer try to different convolution matrices and such for comparison.
