want to access I/O ports through C

Hi all;
I want to know all possible ways to access I/O ports through
GCC.

If you want to know about facilities provided by GCC, you should
ask in a GCC newsgroup.

In standard C, the *only* way to access I/O ports is to fopen()
the port. If that isn't sufficient (e.g., because it doesn't
configure the port for the right speed), then what you want to do
can't be done in standard C without using implementation specific
extensions.

You can't on a machine without i/o ports, e.g. M6800, IBM 360/370/390. You
probably can't from a user mode program on a properley secured operating
system e.g. Linux, VMS, or even on a moderately badly secured OS such as
Windows/XP or Vista....

No, you don't! God's reason for creating the Universe was
to have the denizens thereof enumerate all the possible ways.
When the task is done, the Universe will have fulfilled its
purpose and God will have no reason to support its continued
existence.
