Access Violation win32 c

SomeOne Please Help me!!!!
Why do we get access violation in debugging a c program on win32/vc++ compiler?
If my code is working fine and after some days I am getting this mess then also plz tell me why this is so ?

access violation generally occurs if you try to assign something to a NULL pointer or u r trying to use a pointer which is not initialized.
In your case.. I think under certain case somewhere the pointer is NULL and u r trying to allocate it..
