Create Process , when exe is not in the path

Hi,

This is windows specific:

I'm looking for a way to find the associated executable based on a file type. For example my application generates an image (jpg), i would like to launch the image viewer associated with this file type.

Another Question, if i know the executable name, and createProcess fails, is there a simple way to find the path without parsing the entire drive?

thanks.

How much of the Win32API have you looked at? What else have you looked at? Do you need to just ensure there is something to handle that type of file, or can you just launch it (such as using the 'system()' command)?
