reading and writing from a file and assigning to strings

Hello,
I am new to C and I am trying to modify a program to read from a file.
I have a series of 13 different lines in the file I need to read and assign to strings so that I can use in other parts of the program. I tried to use fgets to read the files but I keep getting segmentation faults. Is there a way I can read the file into an array and call up the elements to assign to the string variables I need?

Please help, I am getting lost with all the tutorials.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

how about using 2d array so that first dimension represent line number and
secound dimension represent line data.

One question:How have you used fgets?
