#define question

1
Recently I came across some code

#define 0x40u

What exactly does the 'u' do in this statement and can you do this outside of preprocessor statements?

Do you mean

#define SYMBOL_NAME 0x40u

?

The u specifies that it is an unsigned integer constant and should be in uppercase.
