Good C++ book

Can anyone recommend a good C++ book for beginners. I have some
background in C programming, so I am looking for something that will
give me a good start with C++.

Then IMO this one should be perfect for you:
www.acceleratedcpp.com

But I recommend you not limit yourself to a
single text. See www.accu.org book reviews
for more ideas and recommendations.

"Thinking in C++" (now available on the internet for free) and "Accelerated
C++" are both good for those with C experience.
