C Array size limit

Hi,

How C limit the size of an array? I declared an integer array of size 3. like

int a[3];

But I can store more that 3 elements into it. Why this happen? Please help

The limit of the array is 3, when you reference an element that is outside the array you have a buffer overflow. Buffer overflows are bad.

HI,
When you declare an arry of size 3 you can store more than 3 elements into it(As mentioned by Redson it is a buffer overflow)
You wont have a problem immediately becaues the stack is contiguous and as u exceed 3 it will be writing in somebodys memory(That is it will be corrupting it)

In the code you should take care that you are not overflowing the buffer
