converter of C to Java?

and does this software work as well as you write that program in Java itself?

The answer to your first question, is maybe, but I don't know where one exists. And the answer to your second question is definitely not. No automated translator is going to be able to write as good of code as a person.

I know that Matlab generates both C code and Java... If somehow you're able to have Matlab read your C code, maybe you could have it generate Java code. You'll need various toolboxes to do this with Matlab (mathworks.com).

I'm new to Matlab, so I can't give you detailed instructions but maybe you should check out their website.

Your comment about matlab made me think of StarUML, which will read some lanaguages in and attempt to make a UML diagram of them. You can then export it to another language, but I would suspect it would be very messy.

I think so as well. The C to Matlab code would be inefficient and then the Matlab to Java code as well. Kind of like the magnification of errors as numerical processes (in mathematics) propagate.
