Copyright Doubt

Hi, I have a program that I developed . Now I want to get a copyright for it.
How can I do that . Does it cost any money????

I know its not related to programming doubts but...

Please forgive me if I am wrong in asking this question in this forum...

Depends where you are in the world.....
In my world, Copyright is free and everyone who produces anything has copyright over it. To enforce that Copyright, however, you need to register the idea as a patent or copyright, and that will cost money (but it helps prove (from a legal point of view) that you came up with the idea before the 72 people that copied you - or came up with it at about the same time)
Basically, you need some sort of proof tht you had the idea first (eg in extreme example, receipt from a bank that you put this plannign document into vault and never touched it since on this date)
