-----gotoxy error in compilation------

P: 6
Hi friends,

When I compiled a program in which I have used gotoxy function in C , I get an error as

"C:\Documents and Settings\e373616\Desktop\H1.cpp(58) : error C2065: 'gotoxy' : undeclared identifier
Error executing cl.exe.

Can anyone tell me why and also if there are any suggestions to rectify it !

Thanks and Regards,

Arun

gotoxy(), to set the cursor position in a text window, is a non-standard function and only available with some compilers, e.g. the DOS based Turboc V3.0 compiler. However, alternatives are sometimes available - Which operating system/ compiler are you you using

Isn't gotoxy() a function defined in the conio.h header file? Try setting that up and running your program.

Nope as Horace has already said gotoxy is specific to Borland and conio.h is a non standard header so since this is a Microsoft environment it contains functions specific to Microsoft.

conio.h does exist in the version MS VC++ 97 I have but it does not contain gotoxy(), have a look at
