The experts on the scripts will try to help you, but they will not do your homework for you. If your assignment is to come up with a design you must do that on your own. One way to look at it is take a physical chessboard. What kinds of things does it have on it, what does it look like, what kinds of objects do you need to even make a chessboard. After you have done some work on it please post your specific problems.
