Encode-Decode Sting

Hello all,

current task is to encode-decode the string for the communication between client & server.
Are there any functions in C/C++/Win32/MFC that can take string as parameter and return encoded or decoded string.

Thanks in advance to all of you.

I'm not sure if there's a built-in function, but you can write a simple function yourself. Since you know that a character is stored as an integer value between 0 and 255 (unsigned - signed would be -128 to 127), you can add a number to each character value and re-cast it to a character. This would create a string of nonsense, but you would be able to code a decryption program which subtracts the same number, resulting in the original character - and thus, the original string.
