The footprint of anything is how much space it takes. For a physical thing this is a physical measurement so you printer footprint is how much space it takes on your desk.

For a program the memory footprint is how much memory (RAM) is uses when it is running, for instance looking at Task Manager I can see that the memory footprint of Firefox with 1 tab opened looking at theScripts is about 31 MByte.

Dear Banfa

Thanks for your explaination, can you make an analysis on memory footprint while executing a "if-else" statement and executing"switch" statement??

In themselves those statements should have no effect on the memory footprint of a program.
