Memory Allocation.

Hi All,
I have one query, If i am setting the Optimation level of GCC compiler , (On Linux Platform ) will it affects in the memory allocation.
Or there is any limit for allocating the memory at each Optimization level.

I agree with that . but there has to be some limit for an particular process.
For Example :- i am using 32 bit OS. so that i would get atmost 2GB of RAM space . and on this system i am using 16GB of RAM.
My Question is :-
If i am allocationg 2GB of memory , Will my Application Hang ( As each the OS is of 32 bit , each Application will get at the most 2GB of Space). or it will continue.
