Comparison Shopping Engine Seeks Programmer with Product Nomalization experience

P: 1
We are seeking an individual who can has experince with product normalization. As a comparison shopping engine we get various offers (product listings) from hundreds of different merchants. We need to implement a method to consolidate the identical products. We currently receive merchant data feeds in XML formats that have no standardization. Some have product model numbers, some have SKU or UPC some don't have any. We currently have no control over the data received and we'd like to implement a product unification method or data cleansing system to help us match identical offers.

Has anyone out there done this? ---If Yes, need a job?

Thanks,
Tim
