standard library functions

Hi Everyone,

which source file contains the actual function definition of standard
library functions like malloc() or free() functions, which helps the
linker do the job?

And speaking about linker, is it that linking is done after loading of
all object modules or all object modules are linked and then loaded?

Hi Everyone,

library functions like malloc() or free() functions,
The files in which the author(s) put them. These files might or might
not be provided with your implementation. Consult your documentation.
which helps the
linker do the job?
A linker does not typically need source files to do its job.
And speaking about linker, is it that linking is done after loading of
all object modules or all object modules are linked and then loaded?
The details of the operation of a linker depends upon the implementation.
Consult your documentation.
