How can I make my program dynamically change due to the OS type?

Hello all and,
I am looking for an approach to help my program know the OS type (Like
Win32, Linux, etc.). Is there a compiler-defined macro so that I could
use #ifdefs?
BTW I'm using GCC/G++.

Sincerely,
Z.Z.
