wave file control at runtime

hai friends,
Any one know how to set bookmarks in a single wave file? that is i should able to control the wave file at runtime. is there any demo code for that?

Hmm, I wonder if this could be done by encapsulating it into an AVI file (with no video stream--only an audio stream). The idx chunk could contain your bookmarks, and whatever audio program you write to play the avi file could read that idx chunk to interpret the bookmarks.

However, I only know the very basics of the AVI format (only enough to encode a single video stream with no audio ;)), so you'll likely be on your own there.

An alternative would be simply to write some sort of index metadata file that your audio player reads at the same time. (Again, I think you'd end up needing to write your own audio program to interpret the bookmarks.)

At this stage, it might well be just as simple to manually split and rejoin the wav file with only the desired chunks. -- Paul
