No.

I wonder does he/she mean something funky like the following:

struct MyPOD {
int x;
};

class MyClass {
private:

MyPOD obj;

public:

MyPOD &operator->()
{
return obj;
}
};

int main()
{
MyClass obj;

MyClass *p = &obj;

p --x = 5; /* Won't compile */
}

I would have thought the last line would compile. I have to change it to
the following to make it compile:

p->operator->().x = 5;

Might as well do this then:

struct MyPOD {
int x;

};
class MyClass {
private:

MyPOD obj;
public:
MyPOD *operator->()
{
return &obj;
}

};
int main()
{
MyClass obj;

MyClass *p = &obj;
(*p)-x = 5;

}
