Is it possible to display bitmap images in Turbo C++?

I want to put a bitmap image which I have created using Microsoft paint onto my C++ program. I am working in Turbo C++ environment. How do I implement it? I found that putimage() attribute does not satisfy my need. I am relatively new to C++ programming and in the process of learning in my college. So please bear it if my question appears silly. By the way I am interested in game programming.

Do you intend to have your program manipulate and resave the image, or do you intend to do some sort of windows/gui work? C++ by itself lacks functions for windows/gui work. (You'll need win32, wxWindows, QT, GTK, or something similar.)

If you just want to manipulate and save images, I can point you toward a bitmap library. I can't guarantee supporting such an ancient compiler, however. (Unless Borland has released something more recently than the 1990's compilers I'm remembering.) -- Paul
