service list using c

hi guys

i m fresher to linux programming, and i want to list out the available
service in linux i.e. i want to print name of service, location of
service, startup type, and status of information using c library.

but the problem is i don't know which function/structure is helped to
list out this all, or if any command then please suggest me or if any
source of c program is available then please forwarded to me..

This is also off-topic here. Please post it to comp.unix.programmer or
comp.os.linux.development.apps.

Hint: Try to use /proc filesystem of Linux to get those information.

While you may find C a useful language to do this task, the task is not
really about the C language itself - you'll need to find the
appropriate APIs for the specific platform you are using.

As others have pointed out, you may find more direct guidance from a
Linux newsgroup.
