Accessing Data Acquired By USB Port From The C-Program

If I am using a temperature senser and measuring the room temperature and am getting the reading through the USB port. How can I access these readings from the C-program written to monitor temperature.

Is there another program that can access these readings? Then you can save/open a configuration and see where it is in the computer, and use that as your path in your program.

You might have to try to open up the USB drive (on the computer), and check for any install or readme files that tell you where the readings are kept, or the documentation for the product.
