Looking for schematic drawing sdk

Not sure where to post this, so I'll start here. I'm looking for an SDK
for commercial product that can be used to create a program that
creates drawing objects with line connections, and that it 'knows'
which items are connected. For instance, three rectangles, R1, R2 and
R3. R1 is connected to R2 by a line. This SDK would report via some API
that they are connected, while would report that R3 has no connections.
Like a network layout thingy.

Anyone come across such a widget?
