use of namespace

Hi

is the following use of name space correct?

//info.h ****************
....
#include <fstream>
using std::ofstream;
....
namespace s_inf
{
ofstream tf;
....
}

//info.cpp ****************
namespace s_inf
{
....
tf.open( "/res/test_file", ios::app );
....
}

//main.cpp ****************
#include "info.h"
....
int main(){
s_inf::tf << "program started at "
<< system ( "date" )
<< endl;
thanks

Item 59 in "C++ Coding Standards". Don't put the keyword 'using' in a
header file or before an #include in a cpp file.

Better would be:

// info.h
#include <fstream>

namespace s_inf {
std::ofstream tf;
}

// main.cpp
#include "info.h"
#include <iostream>

using namespace s_inf; // or using s_inf::tf;
using namespace std; // or using std::endl

int main() {
tf << "program started at "
<< system( "date" )
<< endl;
}
