exit from command line argument

i tried to develop a program to include command line argument. if there is nothing than a.out (i use cc compiler), i want to finish the program. but i can't exit from the program. someone help me please, and please give me the code to finish the program without doing nothing except a.out at the command line argument

You're not really making sense.

However to exit a program you have 2 choices

1. Return from the main function

2. Call the exit() function
