conversion of String data into Binary data in the registry

I want to store a String value as a Binary data into the registry.
The string value is a name & email address and it has to be stored in hex format.
I am using the following

CString l_strKey = "SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Inbox\\LdapInfo";
iSuccess = RegCreateKeyEx(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, l_strKey, 0L,NULL, REG_OPTION_NON_VOLATILE, KEY_ALL_ACCESS, NULL, &hKey,lpdwDisp);

l_strDWord = "SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Inbox\\LdapInfo\\test|test@t est.com";
iSuccess = RegSetValueEx(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Micros oft\\Inbox\\LdapInfo, l_strDWord, 0, REG_BINARY, (CONST BYTE*) &dwDisp, sizeof(DWORD));

can anyone please help. need a speedy solution. :confused:

thanks in advance.
