b-tree

I am tring to understand the purpose of b-trees and concept that drives
the construction of a b-tree. Are there alternatives to the b-tree? No
need to answer such a question if you don't like the conceptial aspects
of c ++ algorithms... :-)

This has really nothing to do with the C++ language.
