math and scripting: how?

I'm trying to generate text files which hold multiple columns with some
numbers. Until now I thought that it would be easily done with some lines
of bash scripting but it seems that I was a bit wrong. Those values I need
to generate are produced by user-defined math functions which are composed
by other math functions (trigonometric functions, exponents, logarithms,
etc..) and at first glance it seems that bash doesn't handle them.

So what's the best way to do this? Is bash scripting enough or should I take
up some other tool?
Thanks in advance

Rui,

What does it have to do with C++ language? I am genuinly curious.
Thanks.

(In case you missed the import of Victor's rhetorical question:)

Your post is off-topic for comp.lang.c++. Please visit

It doesn't. In my newsreader alt.os.linux is right on top of comp.lang.c++
and I inadvertently pointed out this newsgroup as the destination instead
of the right one.

As I wrote before, please disregard it.
Best regards
