Topcoder and C++

Topcoder is currently running "Marathon Match 4", see here.

http://www.topcoder.com/longcontest/...ndings&rd=9974

The interesting thing is, they accept 3 languages, C++, Java and C#.

This one is unusual (read wierd) that the scoring has a "best" score and
so far, 35 of the participants are tied on first place.

This is also an example of a case (notice of how I said "example of A
case") where C++ is just a better language. I suspect it's because the
compiler (ICC) allows access to the high performance vector processor of
the CPU.

Needless to say, all the top placers are using C++.
