Websphere Portal Administrator

Location:Chicago or MN

Duration:- 6 months

The WebSphere Portal Server administration position requires a great
deal of flexibility, both in background and in skill set. Though some
tasks will require basic to mid-level Linux System Administration as
well as Intel Administration prowess, the vast majority of the workload
will be focused on the Architect, Support and Administration of
WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal Server and the IHS Web
Server.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Install, configure, maintain and support WebSphere Application Server,
WebSphere Portal Server and the IHS Web Server on both Linux and Intel
platforms.

Develop, de-bug, and implement automated scripts for the support of the
environment as required by Acxiom Corporation's client base.

Monitor and provide support for mission-critical eCommerce and B2B
websites, including limited application support as required by the
customer.

Configure system level security on Linux/Intel based systems as
required by the applications.

Configure and setup connectivity between web servers, application
servers, DB servers and directory servers.

Deployment of application WAR/EAR/JAR files as required.

Participate in a rotating 24x7 pager support for mission-critical
systems.

Architecture of WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal Server
and IHS Web Server infrastructures as required by client base.

Maintain and support internal documentation for systems support.

Documentation of any and all supported systems for reference by IT and
Administration staff.

Mentoring of Junior Administrators as required by project and/or
workload.

Interface regularly with client base to encourage further partnering on
both existing and future projects.

Willingness to travel - limited.

The ideal candidate will:

Have a BS or AS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

Is considered an expert in architecting, supporting & maintaining
WebSphere Application Server / WebSphere Portal Server

Is considered an expert in architecture, supporting & maintaining
WebSphere Portal Server.

Extensive knowledge in supporting & maintaining IHS Web Server.

Extensive knowledge in Symphony RPM.

Extensive knowledge in deploying WAR/EAR/JAR files.

Knowledge in AlphaBlox.

Knowledge of JBOSS.

Two (2) years experience with Linux Red Hat or other UNIX variant.

Two (2) years experience with Intel based systems.

Proficient at Java & J2EE technologies and other programming languages
to help in determining WAS/WPS issues versus coding issues.
