overloading, function pointers, and templates

Imagine:

void my_func(int x) { cerr << "int"; }
void my_func(double x) {cerr << "double"; }

template <typename T>
void some_other_function(T some_f) { some_f(1); }

int main(int, char**)
{
// here's the important line:
some_other_function(&my_func)
}

How do I specify which overload of 'my_func' is to be
passed to 'some_other_function(T)' ?

This code doesnot compile because there is no unique my_func available
to the compiler.
To resolve the ambiguity, we simply give the template parameter
explicitly :

some_other_function<void (*) (int)> (&my_func)
// Call that my_func which takes an int and returns a void
