difference between compiling and linking...?

I only know Compiling usede to convert the .cpp file into .obj file.
but have really no idea about linking. please let me know about this.

Yes, KHB is absolutely the best there is for beginner questions. No
attitude or pedantry at all; he writes like someone who wasn't born knowing
everything there is to know already built in. His posts are mostly on
alt.comp.lang.learn.c-c++. I posted his full name so you can find some of
his other gems. And I see now, I managed to misspell it.

Knowing about Karl Heinz Buchegger and Wikipedia should be at the top of
every beginner's toolbox.
