Really? What was your question about C, then?

Oh, wait, it's a job offer? How is that relevant to a newsgroup that
discusses a programming language? Wouldn't it be more appropriate for
a newsgroup whose purpose for existence is talking about jobs?

Sorry,

I should have asked a C related question. I understand. How is this?

I have a client who is looking for a C Programmer. They have mentioned
in their position description that they want someone who has recently
Worked with C. they have also stated that C++ or Java would be nice to
have. My question is, would a strong C++ developer (7 years exp) likely
be able to write C code or is there something that I am missing? Does
an expert C++ developer make an expert C developer?
Forgive me for my ignorance on this topic. I know that C++ is a
Broader Language than C ( hence the ++). I Know that C++ is an
evolution/bastardization of C and I know that they are sufficently
similar that a c++ compiler will compile either.

Just asking

Not necessarily. C++ provides the STL, and good C++ programmers rely
on it, which may make them uncomfortable with "rolling their own".

That's false, in general. A C++ compiler will reject the folling
conforming C program:

#include <stdlib.h>

int main( void ) {
char *foo=malloc( 5 );
free( foo );
return 0;
}

If a programmer has held down a job as a C++ programmer for seven years then
either his employers are spectacularly incompetent, or he ought to be able
to write code in any language with a few weeks' practise.
