1) Find a novel. Options: any novel that hasn't yet been scripted.
2) Write a script for it, targeting the theatre, radio, television,
or perhaps even cinema.
3) Find a publisher.
4) Retire to a life of sybarism as a wealthy celebrity.

That doesn't address the OP's question. FAQ 18.10 is "What's a good
book for learning C?". C programming is not considered "scripting";
the term usually refers to programming in a shell or other interpreted
language.

(Possibly the OP doesn't know what "scripting" means and actually
meant to ask about C programming.)

That doesn't address the OP's question. FAQ 18.10 is "What's a good
book for learning C?". C programming is not considered "scripting";

If that's the case, then the original posting was off-topic.

But he needs to get that book before he can actually write a scripting
language in C, mainly because he needs to build on his knowledge of C.
Once he's learned enough from the book, he can move on to a more complex
book, such as "Compilers, principles, techniques, and tools" by Aho, Alfred
V. (a.k.a. The Dragon book.)

Most likely, he's asking about the scripted varient of the C lanugage. :)

I think he was asking about programming in a scripting language, not
implementing one.
