C interface to kermit or minicom or seyon

Hello everyone,

I would like to make a C program that will dial into a bulletin board,
upload and download files.

Are there any example programs out there that do this using kermit,
minicom or seyon?

Any help, hints or advice would be most graciously appreciated :-)
Kindest Regards.
