connect to ftp

hi,

i need advice on how to make scp or ftp connection from a windows pc to a
unix server. The program will ask for username and password and then run in
the background to transfer file at a predefined interval.

actually what i want is to write a program that will on startup ask for
username and password, then it run in the background and move file in
directory in windows to a directory in the unix server at a predefined time.

can a batch process with plink transfer file from windows to unix?
